AI-assisted, human decisions: why we keep people in the loop

Our AI drafts and sorts. A person decides. Here is why that split matters for Canadian intelligence work.

Every BlackPing brief starts with a source and ends with a person. In between, AI does what it is good at: reading quickly, sorting signals into categories and drafting a first summary that an analyst can check.

What the AI does

BlackPING — The AI triages incoming items, drafts signal briefs and suggests what a report could mean for a business. Each answer is grounded only in the source record the server looks up, not in whatever text a visitor types in.

What it never does

It does not publish. Publishing is limited to administrators, and the system itself blocks anyone else from marking a brief as published. Author review and accredited analyst verification are kept as separate steps, so a draft is never mistaken for a verified finding.

Why it matters

For security teams, paramedics, firefighters and others who act on information, a fast wrong answer is worse than a slower right one. Keeping the decision with a person keeps the accountability there too.
